On Thursday I was mostly around the house, playing with the baby and the dogs, refreshing my cv and writing job applications. Then I went to Helsinki to Attila, a friend from university who works in Helsinki as a programmer. I tried to hitchhike but it didn't work out at all, maybe I was also not patient and gave up too early but I felt there is zero chance. I didn't even find a good place for hitchhiking, where I tried there was little place for the cars to stop and in average they came by 60-70 kms/h (allowed max was 90). So I had to pay 30 euros for the train, but at least there was free wifi on the train. The wifi was fast and good, but surprisingly it didn't work when the train stopped at a station (I would expect the opposite, that in cities it works and in the middle of nothing it doesn't).
Today in the morning I went to the city, I started at the police station where they refused to register me because I need either job contract or bank account statement for it. Anyway, I will do it after finding job. Then I went to a McDonalds to get free wifi and arrange jobhunting issues. I will have a job interview on Monday, and I need to do two assignments in the weekend. One doesn't seem to be very difficult, the other one starts to count 30 hours when I open the page with the assignment, so I didn't open yet.
In the McDonalds, which was anyway full of immigrants from different generations, I met Szilvia Magyar, who I knew from ELTE's hockey team. In the afternoon I also met Zoli Görög from Tampere, now doing MSc in Helsinki. We ate together at UniCafe for 2.70e, little bit of nostalgia. Then I killed some time by walking in the city, today it was snowing early morning, and as the temperature stayed not well over 0, the pavements are now icy and snowy. On the way home with Attila we did some shopping at Leppävaara (of course I was again guest of VR, but i bought travel card so now it's not so hell expensive anymore), i also bought a sleeping bag, i am gonna try in 10 minutes. We also had sauna today.
So for the weekend, I will mostly do the assignments I guess, and if there is still time and energy, maybe write more job applications and prepare mentally a bit for Monday's job interview as this job really sounds cool.
